Hetao College is a local multi-disciplinary university based in the west, facing the whole region, radiating around and serving Bayannaoer. The college, formerly known as Hetao University, was founded in 1985. In 20001and 2004, after twice optimization of educational resources, the former Bayannaoer Normal School in Bayannaoer area (its running history can be traced back to 1943 when General Fu founded Suiyuan Provincial Shanba Normal School), Education College, Radio and TV University, Agriculture and Animal Husbandry School, Health School, Finance and Trade School and Water Conservancy School were merged into Hetao University. In 20 12, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Hetao University was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate school and renamed as Hetao College. In 20 16, it was approved by the people's government of the autonomous region to become an overall pilot college for transformation and development, and the development of the college entered a new historical stage.
At present, the college has full-time undergraduates 10670 (5380 undergraduates and 5290 junior college students), teaching departments 13, 28 undergraduate majors, 20 specialist majors, 3 brand majors 13, and 2 top-quality courses are jointly built in the autonomous region. Four professional clusters connected with local economic development have been built, and eight majors have been built by the integration of production and education; There are 4 autonomous regional online open courses. There are 564 faculty members101,including 33 professors, 70 associate professors/kloc-0, and 203 teachers with senior titles, accounting for 36% of full-time teachers. There are 23 doctoral teachers and 290 master teachers, accounting for 55.5% of full-time teachers; Autonomous region-level teaching team 10, famous teachers 12, and 8 new teachers. The college has continuously increased the investment in instruments and equipment to improve the management level of practical teaching. In recent years, a total of 244 million yuan has been invested in purchasing various instruments and equipment, and 832,000 yuan has been invested in practice management and practice base construction.
The college has continuously increased investment in talent work and strengthened the construction of teaching staff. In recent years, 0/7 doctor/kloc and 0/04 master/kloc have been introduced, and 2.2 million yuan has been invested in the installation of doctors and 950,000 yuan has been invested in scientific research. The college attaches great importance to the construction of scientific research ability, and has 6 key disciplines and 2 key cultivation disciplines, and 27 scientific research platforms, including autonomous region academician workstations 1 each, key laboratories 1 each, 2 engineering technology research centers, innovative technology cultivation platforms 1 each, and innovative cultivation teams 1 each. Four municipal doctoral research workstations will be built.
