Many students studying in domestic universities are not satisfied with their majors or schools, so they have the idea of transferring to study abroad. So what questions do students need to consider before applying for transfer to study in Canada? What are the transfer application materials in Canada? These are all things that students who want to apply for transfer to Canada must know.

When preparing to apply for transfer to Canada, students should find out the school they want to transfer to in advance. Including the location of the school, living conditions, majors offered by the school, and whether this school has relevant agreements with your school. For example, the accounting department of the University of Windsor has an agreement with all public community colleges in Ontario, that is, students who have successfully completed three years of accounting in any Ontario college have a GPA of over 70%, and if they are international students, their TOEFL score is 550. As long as these conditions are met, you can transfer to the University of Windsor to study 13 courses to get a general degree and 20 courses to get honorary degrees. In Alberta, there is a general transfer agreement between all universities, which involves relevant transfer rules, but it is not suitable for students transferred from universities in other provinces; If you want to transfer in Alberta, please refer to this brochure. So we must first understand the relevant situation.

What are the conditions and requirements for transferring to Canada?

As long as the applicant meets the academic and English proficiency requirements of the school, there is no restriction on applying for transfer in Canada, and students are free to choose. But before transferring, students should pay attention to some problems.

Before transferring, you must have been admitted to another school and paid the tuition deposit. Under normal circumstances, there is no need to renew the study permit for transfer in the province, unless it is from middle school to junior college or university or from junior college or university to middle school; In another case, when students transfer from one province to another, they need to change their study permit. (See the note on the study permit for details). However, it is very serious if students finish the formalities of dropping out of school, don't attend school or can't enter school in time because of the problem of study permit.

Materials needed for transferring to Canada:

1. application form. Most schools can apply online, but some schools do not support it and can only apply on paper.

2. Application fee. Generally speaking, you pay by credit card. If credit card payment is not supported, you need to send a check or money order. The application fee must be paid to the school in time, otherwise the school will not hear your application materials.

3. School transcripts. School transcripts should be issued by the school reference template and stamped with the school seal. According to the requirements, the relevant departments of the school should send it directly to the applying school, but they can also send the sealed transcripts together with other materials in a large envelope, and the transcripts must be sealed and stamped when they are sent, otherwise they will be considered invalid by the school.

4. TOEFL or IELTS scores. According to the requirements of the school, the results will be sent directly to the applicant school through the examination center.

5. High school transcripts. This item is not required by all schools, but it is also required by most schools for transfer students. High school transcripts also need to be stamped and sealed in a sealed envelope.

6. Course introduction. Individual schools require you to provide a detailed course introduction of the courses you have studied. You can go to the department office of the school to find a list of all the courses you have studied in the university and issue course descriptions according to your needs and requirements.

7. Letter of recommendation. Some schools require letters of recommendation. If you have school requirements, please contact the teacher to publish.

8. Other application materials required by other schools or some special majors.

Generally speaking, if you are about to graduate from your present school, you should prepare the materials one semester in advance. The first thing to do is to check the information mentioned above. If you don't get TOEFL scores, take the time to prepare for TOEFL. Except for the final report card, other materials will be ready soon. So, when you have other information ready, send it as soon as possible; And when your final graduation results come out, send them to school. The next question is waiting.

Finally, remind the students that it is a long waiting process after the application for transfer to Canada is submitted and the relevant materials are sent out. After getting the admission from the school, we should be optimistic about the number of credits transferred from the school. If you feel unreasonable, you can check with the school and confirm it again. If it's really rare and unsatisfactory, you can only make another consideration. In addition, each school has its own refund policy. Therefore, students must communicate with the school before transferring. If they transfer early, how much tuition can they refund? Because of the one-year tuition fees paid by students to the school before the start of school (in some schools, it is half a year), the school will not refund the remaining tuition fees. All refund questions must be communicated directly with the school by the students themselves.
