Jimei University was founded in 19 18 by Mr. Chen Jiageng, and in 1920 by the Department of Fisheries and Business of Jimei School. 1994 Jimei Normal University, Jimei Navigation College, Jimei Finance and Economics College, Xiamen Fisheries College and Fujian Institute of Physical Education merged to form Jimei University.
The school covers an area of more than 2,300 mu, with a school building area of nearly 6,543,800 square meters.
