The public security organ of the place of residence shall complete the production, verification and distribution within the statutory time limit after receiving the certified information, and the applicant shall receive the certificate at the acceptance point with the receipt of the certificate. If a certificate is renewed, the original certificate shall be returned when a new certificate is obtained;
According to the relevant regulations, the public security organs will issue resident identity cards within 60 days from the date when citizens submit their applications. Where conditions permit, the issuance period may be shortened according to the actual situation.

Article 2 China citizens who have reached the age of 16 and live in People's Republic of China (PRC) shall apply for resident identity cards in accordance with the provisions of this Law; China citizens under the age of 16 may apply for resident identity cards in accordance with the provisions of this Law. Article 3 The contents of the resident identity card registration include: name, gender, nationality, date of birth, permanent residence, citizenship number, personal photo, fingerprint information, validity period of the certificate and issuing authority.
Citizenship number is a unique and life-long identity code for every citizen, which is compiled by public security organs according to the national standard of citizenship number.
Citizens applying for obtaining, renewing or replacing resident identity cards shall register their fingerprint information. Article 4 Resident identity cards shall use standardized Chinese characters and digital symbols that meet national standards.
The organs of self-government of ethnic autonomous areas may, according to the local actual situation, decide to use the language of the ethnic group exercising regional autonomy or choose a local common language as the content registered in Chinese on the resident identity card.
