Hohai University's civil engineering major is one of the two undergraduate majors under the School of Civil and Transportation, with a particularly long history, which can be traced back to the "Structure Department" and "Road Engineering Department" established by Hohai Institute of Engineering 1922.
1924 Hohai Engineering College merged with the Engineering Department of Southeast University to form Hohai Engineering University, with Mr. Mao Yisheng, a famous civil bridge expert in China as the president, which laid a solid foundation for the development of civil engineering in Hohai University.
