Hebei University with the provincial prefix is located in Baoding for the same reason as Hebei University of Technology. When the school was founded, Tianjin was the capital of Hebei Province. Naturally, many important constructions were in Tianjin, including universities. Later, Tianjin became a municipality directly under the central government, and some schools in Hebei Province originally moved out one after another.
