The Higher Education Supplement of The Times published the world university ranking of 20 12-20 13 on October 3rd, 2065438. California Institute of Technology ranks first in the United States, while Oxford University in the United Kingdom rises two places from 20 1 1, and ranks second with Stanford University in the United States, and Harvard University. The ranking of Peking University and Tsinghua is higher than 20 1 1.

The top 10 universities, the United States and the United Kingdom accounted for 7 seats and 3 seats respectively, and 76 universities and 3/kloc-0 universities in the United States and the United Kingdom respectively entered the top 200. Asian universities have improved rapidly in the rankings, among which Tokyo University ranked 27th, three places higher than 20 1 1. The National University of Singapore ranked 29th, up 1 1 year from 201year, and Seoul National University of Korea rose from 124 to 59th. Japan, South Korea and Singapore each have five universities, four universities and two universities in the top 200. It is worth mentioning that eight Australian universities favored by China students are in the top 200, among which Melbourne University ranks 28th.

Peking University and Tsinghua University ranked 46th and 52nd respectively, which were three places higher than 20 1 1 and 19 respectively. Universities in mainland China and Hong Kong still maintain the impressive achievement of winning 4 seats in the Top 200, which is the highest density of top universities in the world, among which the University of Hong Kong ranks 35th, one place lower than 20 1 1.

Phil Betty, deputy editor-in-chief of The Times Higher Education Supplement, which is responsible for compiling the world university rankings, said that the huge investment of top research universities in Asia has begun to pay off.
