Anyone suffering from major organ diseases such as heart, liver, spleen, kidney and lung, physical disability or deformity, and acute patients can fill in the application form for exemption from inspection. Those who suffer from acute diseases such as high fever and diarrhea within one month, those who have not recovered their physical strength, girls in menstrual period or students who catch a cold during the examination are not allowed to take the examination.

Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine is one of the earliest institutions of higher learning of Chinese medicine in China. It has experienced such historical periods as Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine School, Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine School, Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Jiangsu New Medical College and Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 1995, renamed Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. Nanjing, referred to as "Ning", was called Jinling and Jiankang in ancient times. It is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province.
