What are the main forms of Japanese higher education system?
Higher education in Japan began after completing 12 years of primary education (6 years in primary school) and secondary education (3 years in junior high school and 3 years in senior high school). There are five kinds of higher education institutions that foreign students can attend: ① junior college, ② junior college (specialized course of junior college), ③ short-term university, ④ university (undergraduate course) and ⑤ graduate school (big college). According to the different setters, it is divided into state, public and private.
