Yanbian University is located in Yanji, the capital of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, which enjoys the reputation of "hometown of education". It is a national "double-class" construction university, a national "2 1 1 project" key construction university, a key construction university for the development of the western region, the people's government of Jilin Province and the Ministry of Education.
The school was founded in 1949, and was transferred to Jilin Province in 1957. From August 65438 to August 0958, Yanbian University was divided into Yanbian University, Yanbian Medical College, Yanbian Agricultural College and Yanbian Institute of Technology. 65438-0996 The former Yanbian University, Yanbian Medical College, Yanbian Agricultural College, Yanbian Normal College and Yanbian Branch of Jilin Art College merged to form a new Yanbian University. In September of the same year, Yanbian University of Science and Technology merged into Yanbian University.
