All non-directional and directional graduate students admitted to Shandong University are exempt from training fees (tuition fees) during their studies. In addition, the Shandong provincial government provides the candidates admitted to Shandong University with the training plan entrusted by the provincial government (referred to as provincial government training) every year. After signing the corresponding agreement, as candidates trained and admitted by the provincial government, training fees (tuition fees) will be exempted during the study period.

Since its birth, the school has experienced several historical development periods, such as Shandong University Hall, National Qingdao University, Shandong University of National Shandong University and the new Shandong University formed by the merger of former Shandong University, Shandong Medical University and Shandong Polytechnic University.

The predecessor of Shandong University was 190 1, the official Shandong University Hall founded in Jinan in the 27th year of Guangxu reign. Since its establishment, Shandong University has experienced two historical stages: semi-colonial and semi-feudal society and socialist society, from the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China to People's Republic of China (PRC). During the period, it was renamed many times, and there were many changes such as closure, reconstruction, joint school and relocation. It has absorbed various universities in different periods and divided into more than ten institutions of higher learning.
