The development of history
After World War II, Tokyo Institute of Culture and Fashion has rapidly developed into an institution that can cope with rapid social changes. As Japan's clothing market is expanding day by day, the industry has evolved into a modern clothing industry, and the college has also shifted its focus from tailoring to market-oriented fashion specialty. 1955, the first international student enrolled, 1957, the college became the first fashion college in Japan to open its doors to boys.
Since the 1960s, many graduates from Tokyo Institute of Culture and Fashion have entered the Paris fashion world. Among the first internationally renowned designers are KenzoTakada and YohjiYamamoto, who are famous for their unique and innovative designs. They paved the way for promising new talents, such as AtsuroTayama and KeitaMaruyama.
1973, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary and opened a clothing museum and resource center four years later. From 65438 to 0976, according to Japan's new education law, the Institute of Culture and Fashion was recognized as a technical college after secondary education, or a vocational school. The new main building of the college was put into use on 1998, and the additional structural facilities were completed in 2003 to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the college.
In 2000, the Laboratory of Structure and Function of Cultural Human Body cooperated with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology and the Digital Human Body Laboratory to create a new female figure, which accurately reflected the figure and proportion structure of Japanese women. This figure has been welcomed by the clothing industry and schools.
The laboratory also cultivates male images. In 2003, the BunkaFashionCollege Institute finally came out of the long-term plan to establish the first clothing business and design institute in Japan.
