College English Test Band 4 and Band 6

1. Introduction: College English Test Band 4 and Band 6 is a national English test sponsored by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education. The main target of the examination is college students, undergraduates or graduate students who have completed CET-4 according to the educational syllabus. Standardized grades 4 and 6 were prepared at the end of 1986 and formally implemented at 1987.

2. Examination Committee: The National College English Test Committee for Band 4 and Band 6 is appointed by the Ministry of Education. The Examination Committee is composed of professors and experts from several key universities in China, with two consultants, one chairman, several vice-chairmen, several members of professional committees and several members of advisory committees. The National College English Test Committee is responsible for the whole college English test academically and organizationally. Part of the examination work is undertaken by the examination center of the Ministry of Education.

3. Content composition: The test consists of four parts: writing, listening comprehension, reading comprehension and translation, and the scores of each part are also different. Among them, writing accounts for 15%, listening accounts for 35%, reading accounts for 35% and translation accounts for 15%, and the total score of each item is equal to 7 10.

4. Reform evaluation: Cloze test in CET-4 and CET-6 was cancelled, and single sentence translation was changed to whole paragraph translation. CET-4 and CET-6 have finally taken the step of reform, but the translation from single sentence to whole paragraph has increased the score and difficulty of the topic and increased the learning burden for students. And fundamentally speaking, the change of question type is only the innovation of examination form. How to reform the evaluation model of English learning, make English education return to the attribute of language tools and break the English worship complex is the key to the problem.

Preparation for exam preparation

1, memorize more words: the accumulation of words is very important for English learning. Usually, we should get into the habit of memorizing words, so that we can have a chance to master the examination scope of Band 4 and Band 6.

2. Brush more questions: We must cultivate our ability to do questions, plan the time of doing questions reasonably, understand some paragraphs that we don't understand, and cultivate a sense of language, so as to improve our English reading ability.
