Ma Shi Manor is located in Xijiang Village, 20 kilometers west of Anyang. It is the residence of Ma Piyao, governor of Guangdong and Guangxi in the late Qing Dynasty. It is praised by scholars as "the only specimen of feudal bureaucratic architecture on Zhongzhou land" and "the first official residence in the Central Plains". It is a national key cultural relic protection unit and a national AAAA tourist scenic spot. Ma Manor was built from Guangxu of Qing Dynasty to the early years of the Republic of China, and it has been well preserved so far. It covers an area of more than 20,000 square meters, including a building area of more than 5,000 square meters. It is divided into three districts and six roads, and each road is divided into four hospitals and nine doors, commonly known as "nine doors to take pictures".
The whole manor layout is rigorous, patchwork, simple and elegant, vigorous and solemn. There are not only the spacious and bright architectural style of typical Beijing quadrangles, but also the profound architectural art of Shanxi merchants' courtyard, as well as the architectural characteristics of the five-column and six-beast hanging blue bricks and gray tile corridors in the Central Plains. It is also a century-old witness of modern China. Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu stayed in the late Qing Dynasty. During the war of liberation, Liu Dengjun set up a temporary headquarters here, where we can see the furnishings at that time. Owner Ma Piyao (183 1- 1895), whose real name is Yushan, is from Xijiang Village, Anyang County. Xianfeng juren eight years, the first year of tongzhi Jinshi. After his death, Emperor Guangxu personally wrote a eulogy, giving him the golden word "dedication". He is called "Dr. Guanglu and General Wei Zhen". Pi Yao's eldest son Ma is a famous industrialist. He founded Anyang Guangyi Cotton Mill (now Anyang Yubei Cotton Mill) and Liuhegou Coal Mine (now Fengfeng Mining Area) successively, which created modern national industry in Henan. Ma's second son was a scholar in Guangxu for nine years. He used to be editor of the Hanlin Academy, assistant to the National History Museum, provincial judge of Hubei, and secretary of the presidential palace of the Republic of China. He was a famous calligrapher then. He has repeatedly covered revolutionary party patriots, raised huge sums of money, and sponsored a large number of aspiring young people to study abroad, with the intention of educating and saving the country. Sannv Ma, a member of China League, was a famous bourgeois democratic revolutionist, educator and social activist during the Revolution of 1911, and was a person with lofty ideals.
Dr. Sun Yat-sen once wrote "The Duke of the World" as a gift, which was widely praised as "Qiu Jin in the south and Lv Yun in the north" during the Republic of China.
