Yichun Forestry School is a secondary vocational school which is born, prospered and famous for forests. At present, it is the only remaining forestry secondary school in the state-owned forest areas in northern China, and it plays an important role in the construction of ecological function zones in Daxing 'anling and Xiaoxing 'anling of Heilongjiang Province, the construction of ecological environment in Northeast China, the economic transformation of forest areas, the adjustment and upgrading of industrial structure, and the cultivation of skilled personnel needed by resource-exhausted cities to continue to replace industries. Since its establishment 53 years ago, it has trained more than 30,000 professional technicians for the country, 90% of whom are rooted in Longjiang forest area.
