The quality kindergarten evaluation project was born in 2007, which coincided with the start of education modernization and evaluation in counties (cities, districts) of the province. It is an institutional evaluation project for all kindergartens in our province. The evaluation criteria include five first-class indicators, including teachers, conditions for running the park, safety and health, teaching level and management performance, and 35 evaluation criteria (secondary indicators).
Evaluation types are divided into two categories: new evaluation and review evaluation. Kindergartens that have obtained the qualification of city quality parks can apply for the evaluation of provincial quality kindergartens, and will be reviewed every five years after obtaining the qualification of provincial quality kindergartens.
The evaluation procedures include: self-evaluation, material evaluation, on-site inspection, rectification after evaluation, and result confirmation. The new evaluation is independently organized by the Provincial Education Evaluation Institute and reported to the Provincial Department of Education to confirm the evaluation results.
The evaluation is entrusted to the Education Bureau of the districts and cities, and the Provincial Education Evaluation Institute guides, manages and confirms the evaluation conclusion. By June 2022, 53 13 provincial-level high-quality kindergartens have been established in the province, accounting for 65% and 5% of the total number of kindergartens in the province respectively.
In the process of preschool education reform and development in Jiangsu Province, the evaluation of high-quality kindergartens in Jiangsu Province has played the comprehensive functions of standard guidance, diagnosis promotion and evaluation incentive, cooperated with the administrative departments to overcome the difficulties and hot issues in the reform and development, and continuously met the diverse needs of the people for high-quality preschool education.
