The experimental field for earthquake prediction in western Yunnan, Seismological Bureau of China was built at No.48/KLOC-0, Beichen Avenue, Panlong District, Dali City. Established in 2008, China Seismological Bureau's popular science education base in West Yunnan Earthquake Prediction Experimental Field is a national popular science education base for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, which is open to the public free of charge.

The experimental field for earthquake prediction in western Yunnan, Seismological Bureau of China consists of a popular science exhibition hall, an academic lecture hall, a film and television hall, a hydrochemical observation station, and a small-aperture seismic network recording center. The objects of popular science include seismographs in four disciplines of earthquake, underground fluid, deformation and magnetoelectric observation instruments, and the actual topography sand table in Yunnan Province.

In addition to daily earthquake work, the West Yunnan Earthquake Prediction Experimental Field of China Seismological Bureau also actively mobilized the public, primary and secondary school students, teachers and other social sectors to participate in the publicity and popularization of popular science knowledge about earthquake prevention and disaster reduction.
