Shanxi's five-three system education was abolished. 1986 after the promulgation of the compulsory education law, some areas do not have the conditions to implement the six-year primary school system, but they still implement the five-year primary school system, forming a national compulsory education stage in which the six-three system and the five-three system coexist. After 2003, the national compulsory education stage is basically the 63 system or the May 4th system. So at present, including Shanxi in 2022, the education system has been completely changed to the six-three system.
