Huai 'an, called Huaiyin in in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, located in the north-central part of Jiangsu Province and the east of Jianghuai Plain. Located in the Yangtze River Delta, it is an important central city in northern Jiangsu, a modern central city in the northern part of the Yangtze River Delta, a member city of Nanjing metropolitan area, and the first city in the Huaihe River eco-economic belt, located at the intersection of the ancient Huaihe River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
