What's the difference between national education and civic education? Why do Hong Kong people oppose national education?
National education is the savior of China and its people. The party must lead, dominate and possess everything, and whatever the party says is what it is. Civic education is the mainstream universal value system in western countries. As Yang said just now, people's happiness is not given by the party and the government. On the contrary, government officials should be responsible to and supervised by taxpayers. Every citizen has the right to know, to report and to vote. The difference between these two statements lies in whether power is in the hands of a few people or in the hands of the vast majority. This is the difference and the reason why Hong Kong people oppose it. It was my idea.
