According to the national university information released by the Ministry of Education, Nanjing Institute of Physical Education is a state-owned university. Nanjing Institute of Physical Education is the only independent sports college in Jiangsu Province, and it is also an important provincial competitive sports training base in Jiangsu Province. It is also a provincial key construction university jointly managed by Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau and Jiangsu Provincial Education Department.

A total of 16 people, 25 people and 22 events won the Olympic champion, and 106 people, 327 people and 209 events won the world championship. Participated in 1 to 14 National Games and won 220.5 gold medals for Jiangsu Province.
