Foshan University of Science and Technology is a full-time public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a high-level science and engineering university in Guangdong Province with a history of more than 60 years and the right to award master's degrees. The school is located in a national historical and cultural city, a national civilized city, a national advanced manufacturing base and an important node city in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-Foshan.
The school originated from Foshan Teachers College and Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College founded by 1958. Later, Foshan Teachers College was renamed Foshan Teachers College. 1February, 986, Foshan University was founded on the basis of Foshan Teachers College, and Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College was renamed Foshan Veterinary College and Foshan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College. 1In March 1995, with the approval of the State Education Commission, Foshan University and Foshan College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry merged to form Foshan College of Science and Technology, which was upgraded to an undergraduate course. In February, 2005, with the approval of Guangdong Provincial People's Government, Foshan Staff Medical College and Foshan Education College merged into Foshan Institute of Science and Technology. The school has three campuses (Xianxi Campus, Jiangwan Campus and Binjiang Campus) (located in Nanhai District and Chancheng District of Foshan City respectively, where Xianxi Campus is surrounded by Xianxi Lake, with a water surface of 1700 mu), with a campus area of 2,208.7 mu and a construction area of more than 600,000 square meters. The school has graduate schools and 16 secondary colleges: Guangdong-Taiwan Artificial Intelligence College, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering College, Automation College, Electronic Information Engineering College, Mathematics and Big Data College, Physics and Photoelectric Engineering College (Semiconductor Optical Engineering College), Materials Science and Energy Engineering College, Industrial Design and Ceramic Art College, Food Science and Engineering College, Life Science and Engineering College, Environment and Chemical Engineering College, Transportation and Civil Architecture College.
