The educational reform of the Westernization School has adapted to the needs of the Westernization Movement and trained practical talents in translation, military affairs, science and technology. Western courses have been added, and the subjects are comprehensive. Confucian classics still occupy an important position. It promoted the development of modern education in China and had the basic characteristics of education in semi-colonial and semi-feudal times. The Reform Movement of 1898 played a positive role in the development of education in China. It broke the ideological imprisonment of feudal absolutism and started China's ideological emancipation. Opening schools, reforming the imperial examination system, and sending people to study abroad have broadened the horizons of intellectuals and brought some advanced western ideas, theories and technologies to countries that have been closed for a long time.
