From the Zhou Dynasty to the Qin and Han Dynasties, the foundation of art education such as "Six Arts" and "Hundred Arts" was formed. The system of workers and officials, the system of official learning and the system of etiquette and law have remained basically unchanged in the history of ancient art education in China for 3,000 years. With the separation of calligraphy and painting in Qin and Han Dynasties, the dissipation of painting concepts and laws promoted the development and progress of calligraphy art education and painting art education. The appearance of literati painting in Song and Yuan Dynasties broke through the limitation of painting art education in form and substance, and formed the essence of educational thought of "verve is not a teacher", which is of great significance in China ancient art education. Dividing these three periods into three key periods in the history of ancient art education in China will help us understand and grasp the history of ancient art education in China, and it will also have practical significance to guide and promote the reform of modern art education. Attaching importance to "art" and "technology" constitutes the complete connotation of ancient art education in China, and even affects people's views on today's art and modern art education in China.
