Master of education (primary education) degree authorization point 1997 was approved. It is one of the first pilot units of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee to train master of education. It trains backbone teachers who meet the needs of basic education reform, have modern educational concepts and teaching ability, and have a high level of primary education and teaching.

Courses offered include educational principles, educational psychology, educational research methods, modern educational technology, educational measurement and evaluation, research and development of basic education reform, primary school curriculum and teaching theory, primary school moral principles, primary school class management, child psychology, primary school teaching theory and practice, introduction to special children's education, introduction to foreign primary education, diagnosis and intervention of learning difficulties, etc.

The course study adopts the way of combining lectures, self-study, discussion, observation and teaching practice, adheres to the principle of integrating theory with practice, pays attention to case teaching and attaches importance to the guidance of students' self-study links.

Since the approval of enrollment, more than 50 students have been enrolled and more than 30 degrees have been awarded.
