Reportedly, on April 24th, the revised draft of Surveying and Mapping Law was submitted to the 27th meeting of the 12th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) for the second review. The draft makes it clear that education administrative departments and schools should incorporate national territory awareness education into the teaching content of primary and secondary schools.

It is understood that some members of the Standing Committee and the public have suggested that it is an important content of patriotism education to enhance the awareness of national territory of the whole society. In addition to strengthening publicity and education, governments at all levels need to play the role of relevant departments and news media; It is necessary to clarify the responsibility and incorporate the education of national territory awareness into the teaching content of primary and secondary schools.

After research, the Law Committee suggested that the responsibilities of relevant departments and news media to strengthen the publicity and education of national territory awareness should be added to the second paragraph of Article 35 of the draft, and the education administrative departments and schools should incorporate the education of national territory awareness into the teaching content of primary and secondary schools, and move the paragraph to Chapter 1 "General Provisions" as a separate article.
