Maota Township is located in the southeast mountainous area of Maojian District, Shiyan City, 25 kilometers away from the urban area. Maota Township, with a total land area of 17 1 km2, is an old revolutionary base area. When He Long led the Red Army to the northwest of Hubei in 193 1, he once developed a revolutionary team here and fought local tyrants to divide the fields.
