Today, in Haikou Changmao Garden School, we listened to a special lecture by Wei Shusheng, a famous educational reformer, entitled "How to be a good head teacher". This is a lecture that the class teacher must attend. He told us the secret of being a good class teacher. Listening to Wei Shusheng's report and reading Wei Shusheng's articles is like listening to a wise man's monologue. His simple personality charm and pragmatic work style are all felt between the lines, such as tasting fragrant teas and chewing vegetable roots. The specific experience is as follows:
First of all, the overall framework of Wei Shusheng's educational thought is:
A core-educating people, and the resulting views on quality, talents, quality, education, teaching and teachers and students.
Two principles ―― democracy and science and the laws of education, teaching and management reflected by them.
Three unifications-the unity of social standard and people-oriented, the unity of traditional education and modern education, the unity of subject thought and development thought, embody the spirit of the times, emphasize people-oriented, promote the development of the subject, and combine reference with innovation.
Four relationships-relationship between people and society, relationship between people and work, relationship between people and others, relationship between people and themselves, and the philosophical thinking from this. No matter who wants to change the objective world, he must first change and surpass himself subjectively, in order to achieve the realm of "harmony between man and nature".
Five pillars-discipline teaching theory aiming at cultivating self-learning ability, class work theory aiming at cultivating self-learning ability, learning methodology aiming at learning, family education theory aiming at combining education, school management theory aiming at combining rules with prestige, and a series of related colorful and unique theories and specific methods derived from it.
Secondly, evaluate Wei Shusheng's language: Mr. Wei Shusheng is a person with great personality charm. He has a saying like this: if you regard others as angels, you will live in heaven; You see everyone else is the devil, and you live in hell. He always speaks standing up, whether it's half a day or a day; His expression has always been very peaceful and kind, just like talking to you face to face; He never talks about abstruse truths or flowery words. He just said some small things related to life, work and study around him. He is humorous and sometimes selfish, but he is insightful, which makes people think that listening to you is better than studying for ten years. So, you are eager to know him, get close to him, and be attracted by his indescribable charm. There is no grandiloquence, no empty preaching, and it contains great cohesion and appeal, which narrows the distance between people and closely links the outlook on life and values of ordinary people with the pulse of the times. It is the communication between heart and heart, and an ode to patriotic dedication. Wei Shusheng is a real person.
Third, Wei Shusheng's fascination with the teaching profession stems from the fact that teachers are most conducive to cultivating truth, goodness and beauty. With this pure emotion, he gave up many opportunities, applied for many times, and finally became a teacher, a lifelong teacher, so that he never left the three-foot platform when he took many administrative and part-time jobs. Educational idealism, embodied in education and teaching, is the measures that shine with the brilliance of human nature: treating students who make mistakes, singing, writing instructions, doing good deeds, writing psychological medical records, insisting on doing 100 sit-ups every day, "one-minute competition" and "learning to use scraps", which is of great significance to education, teaching and students.
Fourth, Wei Shusheng's education on students' love. Wei Shusheng and Wei Shusheng love themselves, their families and others, especially their students. Wei Shusheng loves students, especially those poor students. Wei Shusheng thinks that poor students are the most difficult. If you don't understand in class every day, you have to bite the bullet and listen. You don't pretend to know, every day, every day, every year. It takes a lot of perseverance, so it should be the bounden duty of teachers to give them some care and help them make progress. Wei Shusheng didn't simply reprimand the students who made mistakes, but improved their abilities of self-education, self-management and self-discipline by asking them to write psychological medical records and guidance.
Fifth, Wei Shusheng's Chinese teaching methods. As far as Chinese teaching itself is concerned, Wei Shusheng adopted the strategy of winning by surprise according to his own experience. Generally speaking, when we teach Chinese or study Chinese teaching, we often focus on "coexistence" and start with how to connect. Before teaching or studying, we are always used to formulating a policy and a framework, and then we will follow suit. Such teaching and research generally does not produce much "sensational effect". Wei Shusheng is different. He suddenly broke away from ordinary people. He often makes others feel confused, hidden and obvious about him. His teaching always revolves around "difference" and starts with "innovation". For example, the following strategies and practices:
(1) Most people teach one class at a time, while Wei Shusheng is a "textbook for one semester" and "finished in more than 30 classes".
(2) Most people criticize and fine-tune students' homework, and at most, they study how to change the law, such as changing more or changing more. They never thought of "not changing" from the beginning. Wei Shusheng said, "Since 1979, I haven't corrected my homework or a composition once.".
(3) Most people attach importance to the evaluation and testing of students' learning. According to common sense, testing is very necessary; We should not only take the exam, but also pay attention to the quality. We should not leave or abandon the exam. "Examination is a magic weapon for teachers" has become a consensus. However, Wei Shusheng actually "does the opposite". He said: "I have never had a test or exam except for the unified exam."
(4) It is generally believed that most people follow the curriculum standards and attach great importance to class hours. It is wrong for a teacher not to attend class. Wei Shusheng actually ignored this one, and he completely let the students learn by themselves. He once said, "In the past ten years, I still have to go out for meetings for more than four months every year." Apart from holidays, these four months will take up more classroom teaching time. For the average teacher, this is incredible.
(5) Generally speaking, people follow the principle of "step by step" in teaching, and guide students to gradually go from shallow to deep, from easy to difficult. Wei Shusheng is also counterintuitive, allowing students to "teach themselves the whole textbook". What's the effect? In fact, students can be arranged to have a "final exam" as soon as the new semester begins. As usual, this really makes people feel too eccentric.
Wei Shusheng is like this. He has the mind of a philosopher, the courage of a reformer and the rigor of a scientist. There are Confucian comity, Buddhist mind and Taoist detachment; The experience of a social activist and the eloquence of a speaker ... all these have made him a unique charm and demeanor as a generation of educators, living, working and studying happily with a normal heart.
