Wetlands are called "the cradle of life", "kidney of the earth" and "paradise for birds". It, together with forest and ocean, is called the three major ecosystems of the earth and has special ecological functions. Huangpi district's special geographical location and ecological location make huangpi district have relatively complete types of wetland resources. The wetland area in the whole region is 2 1.608.4 hectares, including 5,388.94 hectares of river wetland, 6,867.77 hectares of lake wetland and 935 1.62 hectares of constructed wetland. Caohu Municipal Wetland Nature Reserve has been built. Located in the plain lake area in the south of huangpi district, Sanliqiao Street is a natural and artificial wetland aggregate composed of caohu fishing ground, tidal flat, swamp and intensive fish pond. The total area of the reserve is 1 148.2 hectares, which is divided into core area, buffer area and experimental area. More than 180 species of animals and plants have been found in this nature reserve. Among them, there are three kinds of national first-class protected animals: oriental stork, white-headed crane and silver gull. National second-class protected animals, such as white spoonbill, cygnet and white goose; There are two kinds of national second-class protected plants: lotus and wild water chestnut. The establishment of Caohu Municipal Wetland Nature Reserve plays an important role in protecting rare and endangered water birds and aquatic vertebrates, such as white-headed cranes, oriental storks, seagulls, cygnets and spoonbills, as well as the freshwater wetland ecosystem and biodiversity in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. It is also an important link connecting the wetland network in the northeast of Wuhan central city, and has a demonstration role in the protection, restoration and governance of other wetlands. Widely publicize the World Wetlands Day and Wildlife Protection Publicity Month on TV and newspapers, and organize rich publicity and commemorative activities in various forms such as banners, slogans and leaflets to vigorously publicize the great significance of protecting wetland nature reserves. Every year, it invests 1 10,000 yuan to broadcast TV promos in prime time at Huangpi TV Station, and uses mobile communication network to send 50,000 short messages on wildlife and wetland protection in huangpi district. Three large bird protection billboards were set up in Houhu Wetland, Fuhe Wetland and Caohu Wetland. Through publicity activities, the tentacles of publicity have been extended to village groups, farmers and the majority of primary and secondary school students, with wide publicity and remarkable results.
(2) Strengthen the protection of wetland resources and promote the protection, management and scientific utilization of wetlands. Adhere to the principle of giving priority to protection and implement comprehensive protection of existing natural wetlands. In areas where conditions permit, speed up the construction of wetland nature reserves and bring more natural wetlands into the protection scope as soon as possible. In combination with the construction of eco-tourism areas, nature reserves and wetland parks will be established according to local conditions. Raise funds 1 10,000 yuan, newly requisition 600 square meters of land, build a Caohu wetland protection monitoring station with an area of 1 10,000 square meters, and gradually equip it with office facilities and monitoring equipment. Actively declare the construction of Mulan Lake Wetland Park to promote the rapid development of wetland eco-tourism.
(3) Strengthen the management and law enforcement, and strengthen the monitoring of the epidemic situation of terrestrial wildlife. From the source, timely and severely crack down on illegal activities such as indiscriminate hunting, illegal operation and transportation of wild animals and birds, hell to pay. Strengthen the inspection of restaurants, farmers' markets and flower and bird markets, inspect the hunting behavior in the field, and strictly examine and approve the business license for wild animals. Set up four animal epidemic monitoring and reporting points in the whole region, with special personnel on duty, strengthen monitoring and report information in time to ensure the safety of terrestrial wildlife in our region. Dynamic monitoring and fixed-point monitoring were carried out on the epidemic diseases of terrestrial wildlife last winter and this spring, and no epidemic diseases of terrestrial wildlife were found.

According to the planning content of key wetland protection and restoration projects in the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, 2 ~ 4 wetland protection and restoration projects will be screened, the project reserves will be well prepared, and the feasibility study report of the project will be compiled and submitted to the provincial and municipal forestry departments for approval in time. According to the spirit of relevant documents, the declaration of nature reserves (parks) in Fuhe wet area is in progress, and it is trying to be included in the category of provincial wetland protection. Sushan Temple Forest Park, Mulan Lake Bird Island and Mulan Mountain Forest Farm are all included in the compensation scope of provincial and municipal ecological public welfare forests. Except for some bird migration in Bird Island of Mulan Lake, the resources of other protected communities have been effectively protected.
(5) Based on the existing Caohu wetland, explore the wetland construction and management mode, and plan to include the south section of Fuhe River, Beihu Lake, Houhu Lake and Shizi Lake in wetland protection during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, and create 1 national and 2 provincial wetland protection areas.
