Suzhou University of Science and Technology: Suzhou University of Science and Technology is located in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. It has been selected into the excellent engineer education and training program of the Ministry of Education, the national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program, and the national college students' cultural quality education base.

National college students' scientific and technological entrepreneurship practice base, the first batch of universities in China to undertake foreign aid master's education projects, the project construction unit awarded doctoral degrees in Jiangsu Province, and the member units of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance and G60 Science and Technology Corridor in the Yangtze River Delta.

Suzhou Institute of Science and Technology, the predecessor of the school, was formed by the merger of Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection and Suzhou Railway Teachers College, and was established in September 20001year. The former Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection was established in 1983 directly under the Ministry of Construction (the former Suzhou Institute of Architecture and Engineering was established in 1953).

Suzhou Railway Teachers College was established in 1980 (Suzhou Railway Middle School was established in 195 1).
