As far as I know, the first to fourth volumes of the new textbook are all 30 texts, and the fifth volume is 25 texts. It is estimated that the sixth volume should also be 25 articles. This textbook consists of six units and 30 texts, which are divided into: unit 1, articles on war themes; Unit 2, an article with the theme of "love"; Unit 3, things explain the text; Unit 4, Explanatory text; Unit 5, classical Chinese unit (there is no clear division standard); Unit 6, Classical Chinese Unit on Natural Scenery. Intensive reading 16, skimming 14. Because the reading of expository text is the focus of this textbook, the third and fourth units are the focus of teaching, and "Chinese stone arch bridge", "Suzhou garden", "Palace Museum" and "natural language" have always been the focus of previous textbooks, so we should pay attention to them in teaching.
Compared with the previous textbooks, the explanatory text of the new textbook is advanced from the fourth volume to the third volume, and the reading volume is reduced from the previous three units 15 to two units 10. In the unit setting, it is more reasonable to put the expository unit between two narrative units and two classical Chinese units, which is more in line with students' needs. Another change is that this textbook is the first time to incorporate classical Chinese into two units of the new textbook, and the subsequent textbooks have two separate classical Chinese units accordingly. According to past experience, it is best to teach two units of classical Chinese in advance, so that students have more time to remember.
At the back of some texts, there are short articles about Chinese knowledge corresponding to the texts. In my opinion, we should pay attention to guiding students to learn independently.
Comprehensive study, writing and oral communication
Comprehensive study, writing and oral communication are arranged at the back of each unit, which runs through the whole new textbook. However, it is worth mentioning that each unit has a different focus. Units 1, 3, and 5 of this textbook focus on comprehensive learning, supplemented by writing and oral communication. Through activities, I feel the cruelty of war and the value of peace, think about the history of the investigation bridge, and appreciate the cultural charm of the lotus. The second, fourth and sixth units focus on writing, supplemented by oral communication and comprehensive study, and realize the "love" world by practicing writing, going to the debate platform and collecting materials to write small papers.
Recite ancient poems after class
Extracurricular recitation of ancient poems is also a section that runs through the whole new textbook. Each textbook has ten ancient poems for students to recite. In recitation, we can appreciate the charm of traditional culture, feel the beauty of language, image and artistic conception of poetry, and reflect the influence of Chinese.
Introduction to famous books
The reading guide of famous books, like extracurricular ancient poems, is the highlight of new textbooks and a teaching method that can best reflect the cultivation of students' Chinese literacy. As far as I know, each textbook recommends three famous books, including nearly 20, including: Education of Love, Stars, Springs, Aesop's Fables, Childhood, Robinson Crusoe, Insects, Morning Flowers, Camel Xiangzi and How Steel was Tempered.
The curriculum goal of Chinese Curriculum Standard (Experimental Draft) formulated by the Ministry of Education requires: "Learn to make your own reading plan, read a wide range of books, read no less than 2.6 million words after class, and read two or three famous books every year."
