Tao Xingzhi's Talk on Life Education
Regarding education, Tao Xingzhi believes that education can be divided into three parts: a. Education of death;

B. education that neither dies nor lives;

C. life education.

He said that the education of death, we simply bury it, is hopeless! Education that is neither dead nor alive, we hope it will gradually become alive. Living education, we hope it has more vitality!

However, what is a living education? For this concept, Mr. Tao Xingzhi did not directly answer in the article "Living Education", but used some vivid metaphors to help us understand. For example, we can appreciate a metaphor:

After answering what is living education through metaphor, Tao Xingzhi explained living education for us in detail from three aspects.

First, when we educate our children, the first step is to admit that the children are alive, and to act according to their psychology.

In this respect, Mr. Tao Xingzhi has discussed it in detail, which shows that he attaches importance to children's psychology.

First of all, he said, if we admit that education is alive, we should educate children according to their needs. For example, children are always full of curiosity, which is a demand of children. Therefore, under relatively safe conditions, efforts should be made to create conditions to satisfy children's curiosity.

Secondly, he said that children not only have needs, but also have abilities. He has different needs and abilities for all kinds of things. I think, as a person, everyone should have their own needs, which is inescapable. However, everyone's ability in all aspects is different. This leads to the fact that students' abilities in all aspects are definitely different, so how to face this difference? Ignore or change? If you want to change, how?

In this regard, Tao Xingzhi said that when we educate our children, we must follow their abilities. Since we want to talk about living education, we must know that children's abilities are different. We should try our best to help him develop his ability and make him progress day by day. We can't hinder or stop his progress and bind him.

Second, as an educator, we should try our best to meet his needs, and we should collect quite a lot of materials to cultivate him. Now let me talk about what materials are needed for living education.

1. Teach the living with the living.

2. Take live things to teach live students.

3. Teach children with living books.

For the above, I think it is simply: only living teachers educate living students with living things and books can life education be produced. This undoubtedly provides a good guide for our efforts to realize life education.

Thirdly, when it comes to living education methods, I can propose two most fashionable methods:

1. Design teaching method.

2. Find the implementation method according to the plan.

I won't share this third aspect much, because in my opinion, we educators should be familiar with these two methods by now. For example, the design teaching method here is similar to our current teaching plan. Aren't there many places that call lesson plans instructional design? In addition, the current teaching plan must be made at the beginning of each semester, and all our teaching activities must be carried out according to the plan throughout the semester. Isn't this just finding a way to achieve it as planned?

From the above viewpoints of Mr. Tao Xingzhi, we can easily find that it is still difficult to realize living education, but as educators, this should be our unremitting goal.
