Teacher Gu told me that Tianjin University of Arts and Crafts opened animation specialty in September, 1999. At the beginning of its establishment, pre-production of animation was mainly manual. Now, they have some advanced computers and related software, and are trying to connect with the international advanced animation technology to realize paperless animation creation. Animation major in Tianjin University of Arts and Crafts belongs to adult education, with a two-year academic system. In addition to the related knowledge of animation production, students also learn a variety of related knowledge and skills such as comics and comic creation. Over the past few years, they have trained more than 60 graduates, and now some graduates have joined the ranks of animators from all over the world. This year, an animation creation center was established in the College of Arts and Crafts to better practice animation teaching and creation. Teacher Gu said that in fact, Tianjin people are ahead in the development of animation in China.
