"Experimental Plan for Training Top Students in Basic Subjects", referred to as "Everest Plan", is a talent training plan launched by the state in response to "Qian Xuesen's question", aiming at training China's own academic masters.
The plan was launched in 2009 by the Ministry of Education in conjunction with the Central Organization Department and the Ministry of Finance. In the process of formulating the principles of the Outline of the National Medium-and Long-term Education Reform and Development Plan, the Ministry of Education has made good preparations for the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents in basic disciplines, and has chosen five disciplines, namely, mathematics, science, culture, information and health, in 20 universities in China, including Tsinghua, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Nantah University and China University of Science and Technology, and made a breakthrough in the cultivation of innovative talents.
The cultivation of top-notch innovative talents is a systematic project, which needs the strong support of society, families, schools and other sectors of society, thus creating a good atmosphere and policy mechanism for top-notch innovative talents to stand out.
Although Xigong University is an engineering college, it is also a prestigious school, so it was selected, but it seems that it is not the first batch.
