1. Guangdong University of Foreign Studies
Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (hereinafter referred to as "Guangwai"), located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, is a key university in Guangdong Province with distinctive international characteristics. It has been selected into the National "20 1 1 Plan", the National Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities, the National College Students' Cultural Quality Education Base, the Demonstration Base for Studying in China by the Ministry of Education, and the Guangdong "2 1 Plan".
The Asian College Students' Collective Action Exchange Program ("Asian Campus" Program) is a joint member of the United Nations University Outreach Program for Training High-end Translators in China, the International Federation of University Translation Colleges and the International Federation of Translators, and the founding unit of the World Translation Education Alliance (WITTA). It is an important base for international talent training, foreign languages and literature, global economic governance, foreign-related rule of law research and international dissemination of Chinese culture in South China.
The school was formerly known as Guangzhou Foreign Studies Institute and Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade. Guangzhou Foreign Studies University was established in June 1964+0 1, and officially enrolled students in July 1965. It is one of the 36 universities directly under the former State Education Commission (now the Ministry of Education). Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade was founded in 1980 and 12, directly under the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (now the Ministry of Commerce), and is one of the founding units of the discipline of international economy and trade.
Second, scale.
As of May 2023, the school has four campuses: Baiyun Mountain, University Town, Da Lang and Knowledge City, with a planned total area of about 2,442 mu. There are 26 teaching units, 1 independent college (South China Business School) and 7 1 undergraduate major.
At present, there are 3 post-doctoral research stations, 3 first-class doctoral programs, 23 second-class doctoral programs, 3 first-class master programs 13, 55 second-class master programs 17. The total number of teaching staff is 2 166, and full-time teachers 1384. There are 20,370 full-time undergraduates.
