The economically developed areas are Changning, Junlian, Nanxi, Yibin and Gaoxian, which mainly have their own characteristic industries (agriculture). For example, Changning's tourism, Nanxi's special fruit, vegetable and poultry cultivation, Junlian's coal industry, Yibin's grain industry, Gaoxian's tea industry and so on.

Jiang 'an County and Xingwen County are relatively common in economy. Planting and mining in these two counties are involved, but the scale is not large.

The poor economies are Pingshan and Gongxian. Pingshan is one of the national poverty-stricken counties in 1994. Gongxian mining industry is also relatively developed, but other township economies are also poor.
