Hungary's new prime minister announces government composition list

On April 14, 2009, in Budapest, Hungary, Hungarian President Soyom (left) congratulated the new Prime Minister Gordon Bainai (right) on being sworn in. On the same day, Bainai Goldon succeeded former Prime Minister Gyurcsanyi as Hungarian Prime Minister.

In his speech to the National Assembly, Bajenai said that after the appointment of members of the new government, their income will be reduced by 15% compared with that of their predecessors, the income of leaders of state-owned enterprises will be reduced even more, and the upper limit of national income will be determined. Bajenai said that there will be more savings measures.

He said that the government's crisis management plan has four main objectives: to take immediate measures to deal with the crisis, restore economic balance, restart economic growth and restore confidence. He said that it will be painful to implement the crisis management plan, but as long as this plan is implemented, Hungary can get out of the crisis. He called on the state, politicians and capable people to share the responsibility of coping with the crisis.
