The patron of Chopin School was born, Wojciech Bo Gu? Awski established a drama school for actors at the National Center for the Performing Arts. Józef Elsner, a famous composer, conductor and educator, completed the transformation from drama school to music school.

The college was merged into Warsaw National University on 182 1 and began to provide comprehensive and complete music education. 182 1 year, the school was renamed Music and Speech Institute and became a part of Warsaw University of Arts. This school is mainly engaged in music education.

From 1826 to 1829, the great musician Chopin studied in the college. 1826 College is divided into two independent parts: Conservatory of Music (affiliated to university) and school for training junior and middle-level talents (drama and singing school).

Chopin studied in this conservatory of music on 1826- 1829. At the end of the second grade, his tutor, Józef Elsner, gave him an evaluation: "Musician".

1992, the college became a member of the European Union of Art Colleges. 1997, in memory of Chopin, a world-renowned Polish musician, the college was officially renamed "Chopin Conservatory of Music in Warsaw".
