Fuzhou college of foreign studies and trade is a full-time undergraduate school approved by the Ministry of Education. He is the initiator and vice chairman of the National Non-profit Private Colleges and Universities Alliance, the executive vice chairman of the Higher Education Professional Committee of China Private Education Association, and the joint training unit for graduate students.

In the latest 2022 Alumni Association list of Chinese universities released by China Alumni Association Network, the school was rated as a national six-star private university, and its comprehensive indicators jumped to the fourth place in the list of Chinese private universities (economic management), ranking first in Fujian Province.

The school is located in Changle District, the gateway of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian, which is known as "Zou Lu on the seashore and a famous literary state". Covering an area of 1.500 mu, the campus building area is more than 480,000 square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment exceeds10.40 billion yuan. The library has more than 3 million document resources, 1 multiple teaching laboratories and more than 300 off-campus training bases.
