Professor Qin Shen graduated from Shanghai Medical University (now Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University) with a bachelor's degree in pharmacology. 199 1 to 1996 worked as a teaching assistant and assistant researcher in the teaching and research group of neurobiology and the State Key Laboratory of Medical Neurobiology of Shanghai Medical University. Professor Qin Shen has been engaged in the teaching and scientific research of neurodevelopmental biology for a long time, with rigorous scholarship and profound knowledge. Trained a group of outstanding professionals and led the team to complete the original works with international leading level. His research achievements have been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation and the major research plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and he has successively won the "Research Paper Award for Outstanding Young Scientists" and the "Career Development Award for Female Neuroscientists", and was selected as the top three in the "Neuroscience Award" sponsored by Science magazine.
Professor Qin Shen has made great contributions to personnel training, academic research and discipline construction of neurodevelopmental biology. The unfortunate death of Professor Qin Shen is a great loss to the neurodevelopmental field and the School of Life Science and Technology of Tongji University.
