We are committed to developing into a shining example of American exchange institutions. By providing foreign students with the opportunity to become members of the American community, we will build a bridge to bridge the cultural differences between the two countries-an excellent opportunity for people all over the world to get close to each other.
4. Major projects
Non-profit government projects originated after World War II, aiming at strengthening exchanges between different countries and enhancing mutual understanding, cultural exchanges and friendly exchanges. Because of its public nature, reasonable expenses and strict overseas management, it has been popular in Europe for more than 40 years, and was introduced to China by the Ministry of Education of China in the 1970s. International students aged between 15- 18 enter the country with a J- 1 exchange visitor visa, study in American public schools for one year, and stay with American residents' families, so that students can improve their English ability and learn new knowledge while improving their independent thinking and adaptability. Adapting to the living and learning environment in the United States in advance, every student participating in the exchange program also shoulders the heavy responsibility of being a small messenger of cultural exchange, cultivating an international vision and becoming a citizen of the world. The Sino-US high school exchange program was officially launched only in recent years. There are about 600 students in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, Hunan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Guizhou, Henan, Hebei and other regions every year, which has attracted extensive attention from schools, students and parents with international vision.

6. Exchanges between countries
Brief introduction of exchange students in American public high schools
The "International Student Exchange Program" began after the Second World War. Its main purpose is to strengthen exchanges between different countries in the world, enhance understanding, cultural exchanges and academic exchanges between countries, and promote friendly exchanges between countries. So far, students from more than 60 countries and regions around the world participate in exchange programs every year to exchange students with each other. The State Council officially approved China to join the "International Student Exchange Program" on 1995, with the record number of EVPP-3-5950. Its content is to recruit outstanding students from China to American high schools every year.
The United States has the most powerful educational resources and many top-quality universities in the world. Studying in the United States is the dream of most China students. However, due to well-known reasons, it is basically difficult to go directly to the United States for undergraduate studies. Even if you get a scholarship from an American university, it is often difficult to make it. On the other hand, China is the country that pays the most attention to students' academic performance in the world. Students' academic performance is generally higher than that of European and American countries, especially in mathematics, physics and chemistry. Take high school students as an example. Their knowledge of subjects in senior three is equivalent to that of sophomores in American universities. Therefore, how to get through the channels of studying in American universities has become a difficult problem faced by countless high school students in China, and the exchange program between Chinese and American high school students provides the best solution.
Sino-US exchange program
The China-US exchange program is a non-profit government program for middle school students between 15- 18. The difference between this program and other exchange programs for senior high school students is that it enables China middle school students to arrive in the United States smoothly with an exchange visa (J- 1), live in American families and study in American middle schools for one academic year. During this period, China students can not only feel and adapt to all aspects of American campus culture and social life, but also cultivate the ability of independent life and social interaction. Because they live with American families, they can improve their English quickly and establish completely reliable personal relationships. More importantly, they can find and open channels for studying in American universities, and then lay a solid foundation for studying in the United States after one year through contacts between the two sides.
In recent years, in order to strengthen cultural and educational exchanges between universities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, students have been sent to study with each other. The general semester is one semester or one academic year, and the credits obtained are mutually recognized. Assigned students are also called exchange students. [ 1]
7. Matters needing attention
All students applying for international exchange students must be clear: (1) After the second tuition fee is paid, enough money should be left to pay for the application and study expenses of all overseas exchange students. In order to ensure that other students have equal learning opportunities, overseas exchange cannot be used as an excuse to delay the payment of tuition fees, otherwise the center may cancel the relevant exchange arrangements and hand them over to the academic Committee of the center for relevant academic and professional actions. (2) The daily affairs of the center are heavy, and all applicants must take the initiative to learn about the visa application procedures and time limit from the relevant consulates. The center will not provide visa assistance to any students. If the applicant cannot accept this request, the center does not encourage him to apply for this exchange opportunity.
(3) All accommodation and air tickets must be arranged by students who actively ask the administrative staff of relevant institutions and send copies of relevant contents to the center by email. If the relevant institutions fail to provide assistance in accommodation, students must take the initiative to solve it. The center's help in this regard is limited. At the same time, many overseas colleges and universities will not provide airport shuttle service. Students should first clearly understand all the traffic, culture, public security and other matters.
(4) International students must purchase relevant insurance before departure and submit a copy of this insurance to the Center. This is a necessary condition for the center to approve students to leave.
(5) Students must write a study plan for this overseas exchange within one month before departure and submit it to the Center for filing. A plan must have clear goals. It should include initiatives to promote exchanges between China, Shanghai, Shanghai University and GLMBA and enterprises, society and universities in the country. The center and overseas institutions will not make these arrangements for students voluntarily. Therefore, whether students' exchange opportunities can achieve successful results depends largely on the preparatory work before departure and the initiative and enthusiasm of students after going abroad. This is also the promotion of personal ability by this overseas exchange. Never have a rich mentality, waiting for others to arrange everything for you, it will not work, and it will bring you a lot of disappointment.
(6) The center encourages students to integrate more into the life circle of foreigners abroad. Establish cross-ethnic cultural understanding and friendship and unity. This is an important goal of this exchange.
(7) At least two weeks before departure, students should inform the administrative staff of the center and overseas institutions of their arrival date, flight and address, and get their reply to confirm that everything is clear. After arriving abroad, international students should immediately call or email the center to report their safety and inform the relevant contact information.
(8) Students must make a summary of their overseas life to the Center every month. This monthly summary meeting is one of the assessment results of students majoring in "overseas exchange".
(9) Students must abide by the laws, systems and cultures of overseas countries and relevant institutions. At the same time, students must have good moral conduct and learning attitude to ensure that the overseas image of Chinese people and GLMBA brand are respected by others.
(10) Students must pay attention to their own safety. If there is any unsafe situation, you should return to China as soon as possible or seek help from overseas consulates in China.
