The essential difference between ladder course and mountaineering course lies in: ladder course focuses on achieving goals in the simplest way, emphasizing efficiency and goals, and is a nearly utilitarian teaching method; Mountaineering course pays attention to the pursuit of results and emphasizes experience and practice in special research, which is a creative learning method.
It's also mountaineering. Step-by-step courses require you to follow the road step by step, and then reach the top in the same way and at the same speed. When you reach the top, you can only see the beautiful scenery on both sides of the road. In fact, the effective learning and efficient learning that we have been pursuing should belong to the ladder course. The mountaineering course is to provide climbers with multiple mountaineering routes, so that they can choose their own roads and climb at their own speed. Climbers have more opportunities to enjoy different beautiful scenery, and there may be more bumps, but it gives climbers more opportunities to experience, which emphasizes respect for people.
The ladder course is organized in the form of "goal-achievement-evaluation", and the teaching course we are conducting now is mainly ladder course. We also follow this principle when compiling curriculum standards and teaching materials. For example, in the curriculum standard, mathematics has a general teaching goal, then a learning period goal, then a grade goal, a semester goal, a unit goal and a classroom goal, which is to divide the road to the top of the mountain into many stages and steps. Achieving classroom goals is like by going up one flight of stairs. Achieving unit goals, semester goals, grade goals, and learning period goals is like reaching a hill or a special scenic spot, while achieving the overall goal is like reaching the final peak. Every step has been decided, and students' learning is to climb the peak in the continuous realization of various goals.
The mountaineering course takes "theme-experience-expression" as the organizational unit. In this course mode, firstly, the theme is set with the teaching content as the core, and the theme should be the mountain peak. Then students can carry out activities, cooperation and inquiry learning in various ways, which should be multiple routes leading to the mountain peak, and climbers can choose their own routes to climb the mountain. Think in a narrow sense, such as doing a math problem. There are many solutions to this problem. Let the students think from different angles and choose different ways to solve it by themselves. They can form, draw, draw and cooperate ... after solving problems, they can share their gains and reflect on their problems. Even students who can't solve problems can enjoy research and study.
So what kind of courses do we need? Stepped courses pay more attention to achieving goals, while mountaineering courses pay more attention to students' experience. Judging from the current educational development, mountaineering course is more like an idealized course, which is the ideal we pursue, but it is difficult to achieve. In my opinion, what we need now is the effective integration of ladder courses and mountaineering courses, that is, we pay attention to the experience of the process while paying attention to the goal.
