National Security Education Day is a festival to enhance national security awareness and safeguard national security. April 15, 2023 is the eighth National Safety Education Day in China. The theme of this activity is "implementing the overall national security concept, enhancing the national security awareness and literacy of the whole people, and consolidating the social foundation for ensuring the new development pattern with the new security pattern".

China's national security mainly includes political security, homeland security, military security, economic security, cultural security, social security, scientific and technological security, network security, ecological security, resource security, nuclear security, overseas interests security, space security, deep sea security, polar security and biological security.

Local activities

16 April 12, in order to welcome the first National Security Education Day, jizhou city, Hebei Province widely popularized the knowledge of national security among primary and secondary school students, and told the children the importance of national security by inviting revolutionary veterans to the campus and making posters to explain it, so as to improve their national security awareness.

In April 2020, the Ministry of Justice and the National Law Popularization Office jointly issued a notice to deploy and carry out the 2020 National Safety Education Day law popularization activities throughout the country. The theme of the event in 2020 is "Adhering to the overall national security concept, coordinating traditional security and non-traditional security, and providing a strong guarantee for the decisive victory in building a well-off society in an all-round way".
