China is an ancient civilization with 5,000 years of splendid culture. Our ancestors created a splendid ancient civilization. China has always attached importance to education. From Confucius and Mencius in the Spring and Autumn Period to China in the Qing Dynasty, civic education has always been an important issue.
However, the current education system in China is influenced by the dregs of ancient education, and there are many unavoidable problems. Here, I look at the gap between China's education system and the western education system from the perspective of a student, and put forward some personal views to discuss with you, which can be regarded as a reference.
There is an old saying in China that "everyone has his own interests". Not everyone has to take the road from primary school to university. However, the competition between schools is extremely fierce now. Many schools unilaterally pursue the enrollment rate, throwing the educational concept of "morality, intelligence, physique, beauty and labor" advocated by China into the Atlantic Ocean, making students bury themselves in old papers every day, turning a blind eye to things outside the window and studying only the college entrance examination. It limits students' potential, so many students become examination machines. They don't pay attention to the details of life, lack basic common sense of life, and there are many "children with high scores and low abilities". How can such talents make China invincible in the ever-changing international competition? How can we shoulder the heavy responsibility of building a Socialism with Chinese characteristics in China? How can we become qualified builders and successors in China? Examination-oriented education is a remnant of feudal education in China and a bad habit of education in China. How can China's education be successful if bad roots are not eradicated?
China-Japan Children's Competition-Grassland Summer Camp.
I remember that in 1980s, China and China held a grassland summer camp. During the whole activity, Japanese children are inferior to Japanese children in life experience, viability, perseverance and so on. During the activity, Japanese children set up their own tents and cook their own meals, but Japanese children can't do anything. Get up when you get sick and go on the road, while China's children are sent back to the base camp when they get sick. The cheers of the children echoed on the grassland for a long time. Afterwards, Japanese right-wingers shouted, Your next generation in China is no match for us! Although arrogant, it does tell the truth that children in China lack competition awareness and practical experience, and their quality is worrying.
Sad "whole-person education"
2 1 century is the century of knowledge explosion. There are more and more courses for students, and the width involved is getting bigger and bigger. However, the vast number of educators have obviously ignored an important issue. There are many courses that pursue learning unilaterally and have a wide range, regardless of students' acceptance ability. Too many subjects lead us to be overwhelmed and increase our study burden. Our spare time has been greatly reduced. More and more students have lost the chance to feel life.
Now the education in China seems to let you build a missile today, explain its principle in explanatory words tomorrow, and then translate it into eight languages, so as to train students into all-round talents.
However, there are so many subjects that we can't concentrate on one subject. Just as the performance of decathlon can't be compared with that of real professional players, Sun Tzu said, "Everything, everything." The product of all-round education must be comprehensive and mediocre!
Differences between Chinese and Western ideological education.
In history textbooks, we often see such words: "An army in China was surrounded by the Japanese army, and all the soldiers died heroically." Together, we cherish the memory of the martyrs, denounce the invading army, and get psychological satisfaction.
However, the stubborn resistance of China people did not stop Eight-Nation Alliance, who had a powerful ship. Beiyang fleet, with a large number of patriotic officers and soldiers, also set out in Weihai under the siege of the joint fleet. The bloody modern history of China tells us that if we don't master advanced science and technology, even if we have manly courage, we won't have the power to save the sky! Courage and enthusiasm alone are not enough, but wisdom is more needed. Now, the word "brave" is no longer in our Daily Code of Conduct for Middle School Students, which reflects the change of our educational concept.
Curriculum reform, what has changed?
The spring breeze of curriculum reform has spread all over China. However, the curriculum in junior high school is simplified, and the depth of the curriculum in senior high school remains unchanged, which will inevitably lead to a knowledge gap, and ultimately our students will suffer.
postscript
The road to curriculum reform is still long and bumpy, but the road is made by people. As Mr. Lu Xun said, there is no road in the world. The more people walk, the wider the road will become.
