Shenzhen Museum is a comprehensive museum focusing on geography, and it is the center of Shenzhen cultural relics collection and historical research. It aims to educate and disseminate knowledge in the broadest sense for the public, and let the public know about the past, present and future of Shenzhen and the splendid culture of the Chinese nation through exhibitions, publications, lectures and seminars.
There are basically exhibitions in museums, such as ancient Shenzhen, modern Shenzhen and today's Shenzhen, marine life and wildlife. Every year, the important collections of the museum are exhibited in turn, and several fine cultural relics exhibitions are introduced from all over the country, and dozens of contemporary art exhibitions are held.
There are more than 20,000 pieces of cultural relics, including fossils of paleontology more than 200 million years ago, tools for production and life used by primitive society 6,000 to 7,000 years ago, cultural relics from various historical periods since the civilization era, and modern historical materials, especially the construction history of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone.
