Located in Beijing, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. It ranks among the national "Double First-class" construction universities, "21Project" and "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform", which is jointly organized by Beijing Hi-Tech University Alliance and China Artificial Intelligence Education.

As a founding member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance, CDIO has been selected into the national "1 1 plan", "20 1 1 plan", the scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students, the first batch of universities with excellent engineers' education and training plan of the Ministry of Education, the graduate program of national construction of high-level universities and the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education.
