Xiyuan Primary School, founded in 1999, is located in the national Jinhua Economic and Technological Development Zone, Shuangxin Road by the Guwu River. According to the provincial first-class standard, it is equipped with teaching building, sports building, laboratory, computer room, multi-function hall, swimming pool and round plastic field. The school has a strong faculty, including 163 teachers, 22 senior teachers in primary and secondary schools, 98 intermediate teachers and 40 junior teachers.

Since its establishment more than ten years ago, the school has successively won the honors of "the first batch of experimental schools suitable for students' development in China", "Physical Education and Art 2+ 1 Experimental School of the Ministry of Education", "National Experimental School for Composition Teaching Reform in Primary Schools" and "National Experimental School for Sports Development Research".
