Yichang No.1 Middle School
Yichang No.1 Middle School, referred to as Yichang No.1 Middle School for short, is the first batch of key middle schools in Hubei Province, one of the earliest provincial-level demonstration schools in Hubei Province, and the national excellent science and technology education innovation school.
Yichang No.1 Middle School was founded in 1494. Chen Xuan, the magistrate of Yiling, built "Mo Chi Bookstore" in memory of Guo Pu, a writer in Jin Dynasty. During the Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty, Liu Yi Academy and Mo Chi Bookstore merged into "Mochi Academy". 1905, Mochi College established Yichang Fu Junior Normal School. 1909, normal schools stopped enrolling students and closed down.
19 10 in the spring, "normal school" was changed to "Yichang municipal government middle school". Later, "Yichang government middle school" was renamed fifteen times and changed its name seven times. By 1953, I moved to the old campus (No.4 Xiling Second Road) in the name of "Yichang Senior Middle School in Hubei Province". 1954 was renamed as "No.1 Senior Middle School in Yichang City, Hubei Province", and 1956 was renamed as "No.1 Middle School in Yichang City, Hubei Province".
As of April 20 17, the new campus of Yichang No.1 Middle School covers an area of 324 mu, with 60 classes and more than 3,600 teachers and students.
