Make-up class refers to the activity process that students need to make up classes after they miss classes due to sick leave, personal leave or public holidays. Make-up class refers to the situation that students attend classes normally.

The process of finding a teacher to pay for teaching before the academic performance has reached the ideal height, but most of the make-up classes are compulsory by the education bureau or the school; Make-up lessons also refer to the phenomenon that some schools add 1 to 2 classes after school in order to increase the main class time.

When students are absent from class, they need to make up lessons in time. There are many ways to make up lessons: First, students teach themselves. Second, students use their rest time to help each other with their studies.

Third, subject teachers find time to make up lessons for students who are absent from class in time. However, most high schools and junior high schools in China have an unwritten rule that make-up classes must be made on weekends and Saturdays, and make-up classes are also organized on various legal holidays. This abnormal development and vicious circle, which violates the basic form of make-up lessons, needs to be improved urgently.

The forms of make-up lessons are divided into on-campus teachers and off-campus remedial classes; One-on-one remedial classes and group remedial classes; Students make up lessons in remedial classes and teachers make up lessons in students' homes, which can be described as various forms.

Over the years since the founding of the People's Republic of China, make-up classes have been free; This is a timely remedial measure for students who have not completed their studies, so as to prevent some students from falling behind and repeating grades in the course.

With the influence of the ideological trend of "industrialization" of education and the influence of market economy, a common problem has gradually emerged since 1995-2000, that is, paid make-up classes.
