Shantou University, referred to as "Shantou University", is located in Shantou City, Guangdong Province. It is a key comprehensive university approved by the State Council in 11project, and a pilot university of "excellent doctoral education and training program" of the Ministry of Education. It was jointly established by the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Province and Li Ka-shing Foundation. Shantou University was founded 1979.
